Vered Optical has been carrying Kame ManNen for quite some time, and has developed a following for those searching for the Japanese design house’s latest lines. Kame ManNen themselves got started in 1917, and like many things meant to last, was begun outside of the major cosmopolitan centres of Osaka and Tokyo. This is important, because so many things of original and quality design with any longevity, be it art, music or eyewear, were created away from the trendy and superficial environment large cosmopolitan centres often become.
Kame ManNen frames are made of titanium and Japanese acetate and are all handcrafted to this day in modern Fukui. Our favourite look from them is the simple petite spectacle, a throwback to the late 19th and early 20th centuries – the latter part of the colonial era – while maintaining a modern edge and modern artsy flair.
Whether you’re an academic bookworm or an urban sophisicant, Kame ManNen eyewear will suit whatever look you’re trying to pull off with a certain imperial quality rarely found in frames with vintage appeal.
