Vered Optical is going vintage! Though we’ve always featured ultra hip retro frames from all over the world, we are beginning to put together a new collection of eyeglasses and sunglasses. “Vered Optical Antiquities” will feature vintage eyewear from the 1940’s through to the 1980’s, all NEW stock (never worn or had prescription lenses put in), with brands ranging from Dunhill and Yves Saint Laurent to American Optical and Swatch, with more being added all the time. Though the focus will be on what is referred as vintage at the moment, our aim with this collection in the long-term is to feature rare and unique glasses and sunglasses that themselves are worthy of being collected, regardless of the era they are from and whether they’re considered “vintage”. More to come on this soon.
We will be selecting certain pieces to feature in our online store, but for now, most of the Antiquities collection is available exclusively in our Toronto optical shop – come take a peak at this growing feature at Vered Optical!
ps. As a point of note, “RETRO” means eyewear made to LOOK like it was produced in the 1920’s through to the 1980’s/1990’s using modern materials and methods. “VINTAGE” means it is the ACTUAL eyewear from the 1920’s to the 1980’s/1990’s made using the materials and methods of those eras. Whether one is better over the other is debatable, and really depends on the brands being compared.
