Samuel Johnson, the preeminent English literary critic, said: “When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.” To anyone who has ever travelled to London, one can empathize with how true this statement is, especially over 200 years after Johnson is reputed to have made the remark. London is truly the centre of the world, a title that it’s unique geography and 1000’s of years of history has bestowed upon it, and though New York may try, it will never, ever be London.
William Morris began as a very small label in London about 20 years ago, and was something of a cult classic for those in the know. Since then, however, its influence has ballooned and has wound up becoming one of the greatest eyewear exports of the great city in the last numbers of years, a title not to be taken lightly considering the great eyewear that London is known for. Its message is simple: “Wear London wherever you are, and remind all of London wherever you are.” The gorgeously simple and classic shapes are understated in their minimalism, all odes to important eyewear designs of the last 50 years. The frames themselves are of a superb and sturdy quality, clearly made with excellent materials to last, just as the English would appreciate. The colours are all what you’d expect based on the retro designs, except each is finished with a unique lustre that really sparkles on the eyes.

We could go on and on describing them, but truth be told, we sold out so quickly of the shipment we had before the last one that we had to order more – thankfully they’re in and they’re beautiful!
